Et voila! This is the raw picture, I will post a better quality picture, with details of the surface, this week.
The second tragedy is that of our frailty versus the Universe, the seemingly eternity of the 'big' things sometimes dwarfs our accomplishments, our lives and its meanings: who we are today will be gone without a trace tomorrow, forgotten. The serpent of eternity is devouring us, leaving no trace of our existence. So many famous people of recent history have left all but one line in the best encyclopedia, they have left all but maybe a deathbed quote. Over the past ages, many more famous people died, are we the better everyday for this?
We might actually: the ripples of actions continue and they carry on our mark on this Universe. Because one day you helped that person, they in turn were able to be at the 'right place and the right moment' (I am not implying here any idea of destiny, just stating a fact) and so on. Because that day your intention was positive and kind, in a split second you inspired some one in that crowded underground carriage to change the course of their lives, a first step into the unknown.
Our lives are part of eternity, we inherited the actions of our ancestors, i.e. from our parents but also culture and everyone else's on this planet, we are their actions, and our Will is shaping eternity itself in turn. What world do you want to shape?
As usual, my paintings contain another level, not only because of the enlightenment ray in this case: Ouroboros is present in its truer form, signalling the illusion of eternity devouring Man...
The goals we pursue are always veiled. A girl who longs for marriage longs for something she knows nothing about. The boy who hankers after fame has no idea what fame is. The thing that gives our every move its meaning is always totally unknown to us.
